This is a Taiwanese cafe. It's pretty small and cozy. The prices on the menu are very reasonable.
I tried three dishes recently and liked two of them. 2/3 is not bad I suppose.
滷肉飯 (soy pork over rice) is one of my favorite Taiwanese dishes but I didn't like this one that much. The price was very good but I didn't think the meat was that tasty. It wasn't saucy enough and the meat was a little on the drier side.
The pan fried pork chop over rice was pretty good. Flavors were very strong and the meat was very tender.
I like the 鹽酥雞fried basil chicken too. It was lightly fried so not super greasy but still tasty. -

I've been wanting to check out this place for a while, since my Taiwanese friend recommended it. Finally my friend and I came here this Saturday for dinner. It was not busy at all, barely half-full.
We ordered one Simmered Soy Pork on Rice 卤肉饭, one Honey Mustard Lamb Chops 羊小排, one Kung Pao Chicken and one Napa Cabbage 开洋白菜.
The simmered soy pork on rice was average, definitely not the best I've had, not even in Seattle (QQ Bites/Facing East has a much better version). There was very little minced pork, understandable given the low price, but most of it was very fatty. Fat makes it delicious, but too much fat makes it disgusting.
The lamp chops were well seasoned, but slightly over-cooked. That gave the outer layer a crispy texture, but also made the inner meat no longer tender or juicy. I enjoyed the Kung Pao chicken, but it was too salty/savory for my friend. I'd prefer it spicier. The Napa cabbage was quite delicious.
Overall a good and cheap dinner (~$25 per person after tax pre-tip). Probably not coming back tho since QQ Bites is closer. -

Ordered the oyster omelette, Taiwanese sausage and the bento pork chop. The oyster omelette though should be called mushroom omelette. I think I ate only one or two oysters because by the time I realized, I was mainly eating the mushrooms. Never had an oyster omelette with mushrooms in them. Wanted to order the stinky tofu but they said they didn't have it today. Probably glad they didn't because I would be disappointed too. The pork chop elevated this review to 3 stars. You're better off going to facing east to get better Taiwanese styled foods.

Every time I've passed by Henry's, it's always almost completely empty. It's a little sad to see it passed by, and I imagine it's more because of the location than anything else. Henry's is one of the better Taiwanese food places I've been in the Seattle area (no competition with Facing East, sadly, but that's across the pond in Bellevue, so it's a bit of a trek), but there are about four or five better east Asian restaurants on its block alone. I would only go to Henry's if A+ Hong Kong Cafe, Musashi's, and Dough Zone were all completely booked and we needed to eat ASAP.
All this is a little unfair, since it's honestly quite good here. We ordered about six or seven entrees, and - aside from the stinky tofu (which I guess we should have expected given our generally very white taste buds) - we enjoyed everything we had. The potato pancakes were very tasty, the fried tofu was divine, and the buns and dumplings we tasted were delicious. The decor is nice, too - verging on classy without genuinely being so upscale that I'd feel out of place in casual clothes - and the food-quantity-to-price ratio is tough to beat.
Drop Henry's in Queen Anne, where I live, and I'd go here every couple weeks. As it currently stands, it's an emergency fill-in for better close-by food, but it's a great emergency fill-in nonetheless. As a Taiwanese restaurant in Seattle, it wilts under the competition, but as a restaurant in a city, it's a good'un. -
